Stoicism is full of wisdom, often times expressed in short quotes.
Actually bringing this wisdom into action during every day life can get difficult, but rehearsing the ideas and mindsets of Stoicism helps keeping them present and available when shaping your reaction to life’s occasional curve balls.
“It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.”Epictetus
That’s why I designed a couple phone wallpapers to help bringing some stoic wisdom with me every day.
The eight quotes feature Marcus Aurelius, Seneca and Epictetus and come from a range of areas these stoics thought about.
Each wallpaper is very minimalistic, contains one quote and features a unique color that tries to embrace some character of ancient garments—or at least as I imagine the colors might have looked at the time.
Also included is one “OLED Edition” wallpaper, which looks especially good on OLED displays, with its rich black background.
The wallpapers are specifically designed for iPhone resolutions, but they should also work well for most Android phones, too. Since having text on the background of the home screen looks weird—with the text becoming unreadable behind the app icons—every wallpaper comes with two versions: One for the lock screen (with quote/text) and one for the home screen (no text). Set them accordingly for the best result.
I hope you enjoy!
